From our Head of College

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week, we were delighted to see the DUCKS and Year 4 students embark on their Spring Hike, an excellent opportunity for our young learners to connect with nature and build stronger bonds with their classmates. Meanwhile, our Year 11 and Year 13 students are taking IGCSE and IBDP exams, respectively, and we wish them the best of luck.

The Year 5 Morning Mingle was a joyous occasion, and it was wonderful to see so many parents engaging with our community. It’s these kinds of events that enhance the vibrant spirit of our school.

We are pleased to provide an update of our Strategic Planning process. Look for a brief update in the Whole School section of this e-update.

Looking ahead to next week, the Primary School hikes will continue, and our Year 2 students are eagerly anticipating the Adventure Residential trip, which is sure to be an exciting learning experience.

I am also pleased to invite you to the Friends of Dulwich (FoD) Coffee Morning on Thursday. It promises to be a fun event where parents can connect and make new friends.

Furthermore, I am excited to announce the Year 6 Parent Workshop on Senior School transition, scheduled for Thursday, 9 May. This workshop will provide valuable insights and guidance for our Year 6 parents as they prepare their children for the next big step in their educational journey.

Looking way ahead, please save the date for Saturday 8 June for Founder’s Day, whose theme this year is community and sustainability and is poised to be the best one to date.

Lastly, please note the closure of the side DUCKS entrance due to local infrastructure improvements. Starting from next week, all students will be required to use the main entrance. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as these changes are implemented to ensure the safety and security of our school community.

As always, I am grateful for your ongoing support. Wishing you a restful holiday weekend. Happy Children’s Day!

With my best wishes,

Mr Guðmundur Hegner Jónsson
