We greatly appreciated the reflective opportunity provided by the IB 5-Year Review. The virtual visit allowed students, teachers, and parents to evaluate our current practice and consider meaningful next steps for continued growth. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to the official report release, which will help shape the next phase of our IB journey. Thank you to all who contributed to this important process.

A major focus this week has been the much-anticipated Senior School production, The Terrible Fate of Humpty Dumpty. The commitment of the cast has been astounding, with students dedicating themselves to rehearsals with incredible passion and discipline. As always, the creative direction of Matthew Readman and Miyoung Kim, and this year with the added talent of Jiyoon Lee, has brought this production to life in the most powerful way. We can’t wait for the performances next week and encourage everyone to come and support our talented students.

Thursday’s Pi Day Assembly, organised by the Maths Team in conjunction with the House System, was a huge success and a wonderful blend of mathematical curiosity and House spirit. While Kunho’s incredible 349-digit Pi recall was certainly impressive, the true highlight—at least for some—was seeing staff (myself included!) pied in the face to celebrate. It was a fantastic way to engage students in the joy of learning while strengthening our school’s sense of fun and camaraderie.

Continuing with the maths theme, it was great to see so many parents engaging with our Accelerated Maths Programme session. The session covered the Additional Maths IGCSE course, its development from Middle School, and the pathways available to support IB Mathematics. Opportunities like this ensure that parents have a deeper understanding of how we challenge and support our students in their mathematical learning.
On Thursday, our UCC Coffee Morning for Year 10 and 11 was buzzing with insightful conversations about option choices, university expectations, and pathways beyond Dulwich. These sessions are invaluable in guiding students and families through the decision-making process, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next steps in their academic journey.
Well done to all our participating sports teams, football, badminton basketball successes from the Middle And varsity teams.

Year 8 Enrichment: Nutrition
Another group of Year 8 students headed into the kitchen on Friday, 7 March to cook up a storm! On the menu this time was a healthy Mediterranean-style chicken/tofu pasta dish. The students had to work together to produce the dish by following a recipe, however, they were also given the freedom to individualize their dishes with additional ingredients. The event marked the culmination of a 10-week Nutrition course designed for the Year 8 Enrichment program.

Career Day

Career Day at Dulwich College Seoul is an exciting and inspiring event designed to help Senior School students explore their future career paths. Imagine getting the chance to meet professionals from a wide range of industries right in your own school! On this special day, we will welcome guest speakers who will share their personal career journeys, challenges, and successes, giving students a real-world perspective on different professions. Through interactive sessions, panel discussions, and Q&A opportunities, students will gain valuable insights into the skills, qualifications, and experiences needed for their dream jobs. This event is not just about learning—it’s about inspiring the next generation to think big, set goals, and take steps toward a successful future. It’s a great way to learn, get inspired, and start thinking about the future!

SSAEM Peer Mentoring

The Year 12 and Year 13 students are re-introducing the new SSAEM peer mentoring program for this term!
‘SSAEM’, which roughly translates to ‘tutor’ in Korean vernacular, is designed to help younger students (Year 7 to Year 11) with academics and other things relating to the senior school. It can be a great way to gain insight into IB students’ perspectives on school and also to discuss topics that are more suitable for a mature student body.
Mentees will be joined up as either single sessions (one mentor and one mentee) or double sessions (one mentor and two mentees), depending on the mentees’ choices. Scheduling for meetings will happen individually via email between the mentors and the mentees, which can happen anytime from lunchtime to 4.30pm after school.
For students wishing to become mentees for this term, please fill out this form.
We look forward to seeing more students sign up!
