Dear Primary Families,
Please note that this is the last E-update to be sent from us by email. From Term 3, all communications such as these go onto MyDulwich.
What a week we have had!
The student athlete’s returning from Xi’an laden with memories and medals were received at our final assembly of the term with great excited and applause. Their successes in China have been two-fold: catching the eye of other Dulwich staff for their good manners, friendly disposition and positive attitude (so much so I got emails during the week from other schools telling me how super they were!) plus winning across the disciplines – swimming, athletics and soccer. We are one of the smallest Dulwich Colleges, but we sure can compete! Many thanks to the families and our staff who left home to travel and care for our youngsters.
The final Assembly saw the gym packed with parents and all of Primary. The Junior Choir and Junior Orchestra entertained us so beautifully; the skipping contest result was so close; the DUCKS’ parade was a delight and hearing about students’ Mandarin success, fundraising success and Year 6 on their residential was uplifting. Charlotte (Year 5) was presented with her certificate for achieving the superb accolade of winning the Year 5/ Year 6 FOBISIA Annual Short Story Award – a terrific feat, given she was competing against 100s of young writers from almost 100 FOBISIA Schools across Asia.

Golden Coat Hanger Award: Are Students “Dressed for Success?”

Each week, this prestigious award is given to the class in a Year Group who has shown the greatest effort and attention to detail in dressing smartly and being well prepped for school. Are our black shoes shining; are shirts crisply tucked in, and are our ties snugly at our top buttons?

Some Highlights this Week:
FOBISIA Short Story Competition – Winner
We are thrilled to announce that Charlotte Azaroglu from 5C has won the FOBISIA Short Story Competition in the Years 5-6 category with her captivating story, The Girl Who Belonged Everywhere.
This year, over 100 British International schools participated in the competition. Charlotte’s achievement is particularly remarkable as her story not only outshone hundreds of entries from her Year Group but was also judged to be of higher quality than those from Year 6 students across these schools.
The theme of the competition was ‘Intercultural Awareness,’ reflecting the rich diversity and inclusivity of our community. One of the judges praised Charlotte’s work, stating, “The standard of writing produced was outstanding. A very well-deserved 1st place for Charlotte.”
You can read Charlotte’s story here.

Healthy Snack Policy Reminder
As part of our ongoing efforts to promote healthy habits, we would like to remind everyone that while we appreciate the occasional treat at DCSL, candy, chocolate, lollipops, and sweets are not permitted as daily snacks. We encourage parents to send in fruit, a simple sandwich, or a plain cookie for their child’s snack.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a healthy and balanced environment for all students.

Menu for lunches and snacks:
Our students are great eaters and really enjoy the 8-10 separate offerings each lunchtime from salad, meat dishes, rice or pasta, fruit, raw veggies, and vegetarian options too. Click here for the April 2025 menu.
Weekly Parent Workshops:
These have concluded for the term. Thank you to all families who joined us for online and face to face sessions across healthy eating, safeguarding, E-safety, AI in schools and Model United Nations.
If there is a specific workshop that you would like to attend please let us know. Jane.smith@dulwich-seoul.kr

Dulwich Leopards Shine at Worldwise Primary Games in Xi’an!
Our students brought incredible energy, sportsmanship, and talent to the Worldwise Primary Games at Dehong High School in Xi’an—and their hard work paid off with a fantastic sweep of medals and trophies across all sports!

In athletics, our Year 5 boys secured 2nd place, while both the Year 6 girls and boys teams took 1st place. Over in the pool, our Year 4 girls and Year 6 boys made a splash with 3rd place finishes, and our Year 6 girls claimed 1st. On the football field, our teams were unstoppable: Both Year 4 girls and boys both took 1st place, Year 5 girls earned 2nd and boys earned 3rd, Year 6 girls came 2nd, and our Year 6 boys proudly took home 5th place as Shield winners. Every team returned home with medals or trophies—proof of their teamwork, perseverance, and school spirit. We couldn’t be prouder of our students and their incredible achievements in Xi’an!

DUCKS Big Sing: Our Annual Group Sing-A-Long
We’re excited to share that the Big Sing is back for its second year, bringing together students from all Dulwich Schools (Nursery to Year 2) to sing, collaborate, and create something truly special! This year, we’ve chosen the uplifting and heartwarming song “Together” – a perfect anthem of unity, friendship, and joy.
The students have been working hard on their individual performances, and we’re thrilled to share the DCSL version with you first! This sneak peek gives us all a glimpse of the magic unfolding before the final version, which will include students from all Dulwich Schools. The full, collaborative music video will be released in May, so stay tuned!
We hope this project inspires everyone, celebrates our community spirit, and brings a smile to your face. Enjoy the video, and we wish all our students and families a wonderful spring break!
Year 6 Adventurous Journey in Hong Kong 2025
Thank you very much from the Primary School Charity Committee
Thank you to our Primary School community (and to our PS Charity Committee members) for supporting and generously donating to our charity events this term. We had great fun raising money and awareness for Good Neighbors Korea through the Student Council’s Movie Nights, DUCKS 1 Art Exhibition and the World Story Telling Day Dress Up! Thank you also for donating your used-but-in-good-condition books. We hope you have a wonderful Spring holiday and see you next term!
The Ambassador Platform

We’re pleased to share “The Ambassador Platform” with our community—an interactive chatting app that’s been connecting prospective parents with our dedicated community of parents. Our team of parent ambassadors has been doing a great job engaging with potential families, sharing personal experiences, and offering advice to showcase why Dulwich College Seoul is a great choice.
This platform is not only useful for prospective parents but also a helpful resource for our current parents. They can easily start a conversation with our experienced parent ambassadors to get answers to any questions they may have about Dulwich College Seoul’s school life.
