Dear Primary Families,
There’s been so much going on in the Primary School this week: Year 5 making clay tablets inspired by ancient cultures, Year 1 rehearsing their dances, Reception constructing with cardboard, Year 6 working with the Senior School Humanities department in geography and so on. A hive of activity!
The highlight of this week and perhaps the term has been today’s Lunar New Year Assembly. Hosted by our Mandarin dept each year, this year’s assembly featured the stunning lion dance by teachers and dance, music and song from students of all ages. What a feast for the senses it was! Many thanks to the parents who came along.
Golden Coat Hanger Award:
This prestigious award is handed out weekly to the class in the Year Group who were ‘dressed for success’ – Year 3P reigned supreme in Year 3. I’m waiting t hear which classes in Year 4-6 were the sharpest dressers.
Parent Rep Meeting this Week:
Thanks to the Reps who give their time and energy so willing in the service of the school. This week we had another fruitful meeting where I shared lots of information and gathered lots of feedback. While some items’ resolution is still pending, please find the meeting minutes here.

Ms Kaylee Kim has joined the Primary School as our cover TA – Kaylee is American and is already showing she is “a natural” working with our Year 2 students.
We also have a new cover teacher, Mr Oliver Williamson, joining us after the break. Oliver is from UK and is in Korea with his family. Oliver will cover in the library for now and will then cover Mrs Burrows class while she is away on maternity leave.

Year 5 Digital Art Project: Exploring Endangered Animals
As part of our Global Citizenship Education program, Year 5 students have been exploring the theme of endangered animals through a creative and engaging digital art project. Using the PowerPoint app, students experimented with digital art features to manipulate and enhance their artwork, resulting in stunning pieces that highlight the beauty and vulnerability of endangered species. Adding a special touch to this initiative, Theodore Lee from Year 6 volunteered to share his own digital art creation, inspired by the K-pop song Apt., showcasing his artistic flair and passion for global themes. This project not only nurtures creativity but also raises awareness of critical global issues through innovative technology.
