From our Head of College

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Year 4 students went on their Adventurous Journey this week. From kayaking and dragon boat racing on shimmering waters to challenging themselves with survival skills and, a maze activity, a wildlife encounter and a talent show, the children immersed themselves in the experience. As they returned to campus yesterday, their glowing faces and animated stories were a testament to the invaluable lessons in teamwork, resilience, and respect for nature that they had learned.

It’s been heartening to hear the glowing reports about our students’ exceptional performance last week at the Dulwich Shakespeare Festival. A huge round of applause goes out to the Head of Drama, Mr Readman, and to all the students involved for their outstanding success. Their dedication and passion for the arts have shone through, and we couldn’t be prouder. Well done!

Kudos also to our remarkable Dulwich Games athletes who have triumphantly returned from Beijing laden with trophies. We invite everyone to view this splendid collection, now on proud display in the College Foyer. A huge thank you to our Director of Sport, Peter Poulton, for his exemplary leadership and guidance, steering our team towards numerous victories.

I’m happy to inform you that the 2022-2023 academic year photos, beautifully captured by our marketing department, are now available for request. These range from drama productions to community events to our graduation ceremonies and more. For a detailed guide on how to view and request these photographs, please refer to the Whole School section of this E-update.

Additionally, gain insights into why JP Lee, a parent and CEO of SoftBank Ventures Asia, chose Dulwich College Seoul for his twin daughters and his perspective on the key to success in the tech industry. If you missed that email that went out earlier this week, please click here to read it now.

A gentle reminder to our community: There will be no school tomorrow (Friday), or on the following Monday, owing to our staff Professional Learning Days. These days are pivotal for our staff’s continuous professional development, ensuring we maintain the highest educational standards for our students. We appreciate your understanding and support in these efforts, and we look forward to welcoming the students back on Tuesday.

The Friends of Dulwich (FoD) are hosting their Social Coffee Morning and Used Uniform Sale on Thursday, commencing at 8.30am. It’s a perfect opportunity to socialise with other parents and staff. Please remember to bring along a mug for your coffee or tea and some cash for the uniform sale.
