Welcome Back Picnic

New Parents Coffee Morning
For those who have recently joined our Dulwich family, we warmly extend an invitation to our New Parent Coffee Morning on Friday 1 September, from 8.30am to 9.30am in the B1 College Atrium. Stepping into a new community can be both exciting and daunting, but a friendly face and a good cup of coffee can do wonders to set you at ease. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet key members of the College Leadership Team and start connecting with other parents. This informal gathering is more than just an introduction; it’s a welcome into a network of support, collaboration, and friendship. The Friends of Dulwich will also be holding a used uniform sale.
Private Music Lessons
At Dulwich College Seoul, we offer Private Music Lessons to all students for an additional cost. We offer a wide range of instrumental lessons to students from Years 1-13, which take place either during the school day (primary school students) or lunchtime or after school (senior school students). Students can opt for a maximum of two instruments. We offer this at the beginning of each term as a block of lessons, either:
- Ten 30 minute lessons,
- Twenty 30 minute lessons, or
- Ten 60 minute lessons (Senior students only)
To guarantee your child’s private music lessons for this term, we must be notified by Sunday 27 August. To register your interest, please fill out this form by Sunday 27 August, and Ms Nara Lee will be in contact later next week to confirm your interest. If you register after this date, we cannot guarantee your child will be able to receive private music lessons this term and may have to wait until next term to register.
If you have further questions about private music lessons, please contact nara.lee@dulwich-seoul.kr or mark.knights@dulwich-seoul.kr.
Welcome Picnic Busking Stage Sign Up

Last year, we had a variety of acts on the small stage, including solo singers and guitar battles. The stage is open to anyone and everyone, so please feel free to sign up using this form here.
New PE Vision
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the new Director of Sport, I would like to take this opportunity to communicate the vision of Physical Education (PE) and Sport at Dulwich College Seoul. I have had the privilege of having worked at Dulwich College Seoul and another Dulwich College. One of the strengths of our network is that the family of Dulwich schools strive for enrichment and excellence in all aspects of the curriculum and across all age groups.
The range of sporting opportunities is continuing to develop locally and globally, and this evolution spearheads an opportunity to review and expand our PE and Sporting provision. We are excited to share our vision for 2023/24 and beyond, as follows.
“Students Come First” At DCSL:
First and foremost, we believe in fostering a holistic approach to education across all year groups that embraces the diversity of our students and their unique abilities. In line with the Dulwich student-centred approach, we aim to create an inclusive environment where every student, regardless of their ability, can thrive in the realm of physical education. Through a well-rounded PE programme, we seek to empower our students not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally, and socially.
Everything we do is driven by the PE curriculum that creates pathways of opportunity into our sport programme. Our lessons work to inspire students to find joy in a wide range of sports, underpinned by the ethos, “sport for all.” As students participate in lessons, they will experience various levels of competition from House Sport, friendly matches against other schools, local tournaments, and overseas events.
FOBISIA Excellence:
At Dulwich, we are incredibly lucky to be connected to our Dulwich family of schools. We are also a prominent member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia – FOBISIA, which is an internationally recognised group of elite schools across Asia we already participate in.
These affiliations provide our school with the opportunity to compete in a range of highly prestigious sporting events, throughout the school year and for a range of ages. They also provide wonderful opportunities for students to meet and network with their peers from around the globe. Moreover, FOBISIA has the capacity to create elite sport pathways with links to UK and US college recruitment.
Our Whole School Programme Expansion:
The PE team will be hard at work this year to prepare students for these new and exciting opportunities. We will be continuing our KAIAC membership under a restructured management system. This will allow the PE team to focus on growing sustainable teams across the age ranges through a more flexible sport programme and the opportunity to compete and excel in a much larger series of competitions both locally and overseas.
Our Team:
We are excited to introduce our team members, each of whom brings a wealth of experience and expertise, as well as passion, to our Sport Programme.
Peter Poulton, Director of Sport
Jennifer Smith, PE Teacher
Youngjin Kim, PE Teacher
Jun Huang, Swimming Lead
Danny Wild, PE Teacher
Our Plan for 23/24:
Primary Swimming: Our activity in the pool is a strength we wish to develop further. As such, we will be introducing the SwimEngland programme for all swimming lessons from Nursery to Year 6. Students will work towards clear swimming skills goals and receive recognition of their development in the form of internally recognised certificates.
Juniors’ PE Lessons: This year, we will begin with 1 x 60 min swimming lessons and 1 x 60 min PE lesson. In this way, we can develop our Year 3 -Year 6 students into well-rounded athletes.
In addition, we are pleased to announce that our swimming team will have new uniforms proudly featuring our fierce Leopards logo to demonstrate our school spirit in competitions.
Seniors: Senior School will now have a more flexible Sport Programme that will prepare students for various FOBISIA Invitational events hosted throughout Asia. The breadth and scope of sport activities available to students will be unparalleled, especially in the post-COVID era where events are now in full swing. Our core sports will be Football, Basketball, Swimming and Volleyball. However, it is now possible to celebrate the individual talents of our students with other sports such as Golf, Tennis, Squash and many more. Although in these cases we cannot train the students, if your son or daughter competes outside of school, we are now able to support your child with these excellent and unique opportunities. For more information about the FOBISIA invitational events, please click here.
Additionally, we aim to have a wider variety of local competition. We will link with more schools locally as well as other international schools. This will provide our senior school students a broader selection of opportunities and expose them to different approaches to sports competition. International schools and local schools operate slightly differently and experiencing both is beneficial. Our new approach to senior school sport will offer higher quality opportunities that will sync better with the academic expectations from other areas of the curriculum.
Facility Upgrades:
Building on the work to replace and upgrade of the gym floor last year, we have redesigned the gym changing rooms, showers, and toilets. Students now have greater privacy to change for PE/sports plus individual locker space all housed in a modern and sleek changing room block.
Juniors will change once per PE day (before or after their lesson depending on whether it is in the morning or afternoon). Senior students will change for each PE lesson.
Upcoming Confirmed Events:
Dulwich Primary Games: 24 – 26 October
FOBISIA Primary Games 23/24: May – Specific date TBC
Senior School Olympiad: 18 – 23 March
If you have any questions about PE and Sport at Dulwich College Seoul, please contact me at peter.poulton@dulwich-seoul.kr and I would be delighted to assist you.
Kind regards,
Peter Poulton
